In my first blog I am saying something about Genealogy.
Genealogy: A Study of Family History
The word Genealogy derived from Greek words genea, which means “generation” and logos, which means “knowledge”. The study of family history had started since 17th centuries. Day by day it became a favorite subject of millions of people of Globe.
Why we study Genealogy?
What is its importance?
Let me answer all the above questions. Many people are involved in family history for a specific region. They are may be.
- To satisfy your curiosity about yourself.
- To provide their children with a sense of who were their ancestors, how was their life style and from where they came from.
- To preserve family culture and ethnic traditions for future generation.
- To inform their family about inherited diseases of defects which their ancestors had.
- To qualify for a lineage society.
- To publish a family history book, whether for family members or for profits.
- To discover facts that others have overlooked and solve the puzzle of lifetime.
